Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how See From Afar Vision LLC (“RXlingo,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use the RXlingo browser extension and website (the “Service”). RXlingo turns posts you read on X (Twitter) into short English reading practice by providing in-context translation, explanations, vocabulary, and pronunciation. We designed the Service to collect as little personal data as reasonably possible.

1. Scope

This policy applies to the RXlingo browser extension, the rxlingo.com website, and related services operated by See From Afar Vision LLC. It does not apply to X (Twitter) or any other third-party website, service, or platform you use alongside RXlingo, each of which has its own privacy practices.

3. Content you choose to study

To provide its features, the RXlingo extension reads content on the web pages where it operates (for example, posts shown to you on X). It processes the text you choose to study or look up. When you use a feature, that text is sent to our servers and to the providers described in Section 6 in order to return a translation, explanation, vocabulary, or pronunciation. When you use reading mode, RXlingo may also load and process the next post(s) in advance (prefetch) so the experience is smooth; that content is handled the same way as text you actively select.

• We do not use the extension to collect your passwords, financial account details, or the full contents of pages beyond what is needed to provide the feature you invoked.
• The posts and content you study belong to their respective authors and platforms; RXlingo processes them only to provide language-learning features to you.

4. How we use information

• Provide, maintain, and improve the Service and its features.
• Generate translations, explanations, vocabulary, and text-to-speech pronunciation.
• Create and secure your account, and process subscriptions and payments.
• Enforce plan limits and prevent abuse, fraud, and security incidents.
• Respond to your requests and provide customer support.
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.

We do not use your data to build advertising profiles, and we do not use it to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes.

5. AI processing

RXlingo relies on third-party artificial-intelligence and text-to-speech providers — currently OpenAI (for translations, explanations, and vocabulary) and Google Cloud Text-to-Speech (for pronunciation) — to generate its output. When you use an AI-assisted feature, the text being processed is transmitted to our servers and to these providers so they can return a result. This text is used solely to generate your result and is not retained by us after the result is produced; these providers are contractually prohibited from using it to train their models. Because AI output is generated automatically, it may be inaccurate or incomplete, as described in our Terms of Service.

We share information only in these limited circumstances:

These service providers are permitted to use your information only to perform services for us and are bound by confidentiality and data-protection obligations. The providers named above are our current sub-processors and may change as the Service evolves; we will update this policy accordingly.

7. We do not sell your data

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not use content you study for advertising purposes.

9. Data retention

We keep personal data only for as long as needed to provide the Service and for the purposes described in this policy — for example, while you have an account, and afterward as required to meet legal, accounting, or security obligations. When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify your personal data within 30 days, except for records we are required to retain by law (such as transaction records). Diagnostic logs are kept for a limited period and then deleted or aggregated.

10. Your rights & choices

Depending on where you live (for example, under the EU/UK GDPR or the California CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to:

• access, correct, or delete your personal data;
• request a copy of your data (portability);
• object to or restrict certain processing, and withdraw consent; and
• not receive discriminatory treatment for exercising your rights.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@rxlingo.com. We will respond within the time required by applicable law. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.

11. Deleting your data

You can delete your account and associated personal data at any time directly within the RXlingo extension (in your account settings), or by emailing hello@rxlingo.com from your account email with the subject “Account deletion request.” See our Support page for details. You can also remove the extension from your browser at any time via your browser’s extensions settings.

The website and extension use cookies and local/browser storage that are necessary to sign you in, remember your preferences, and keep the Service secure. We do not use cookies for third-party advertising. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though some features may not work without them.

13. International transfers

We are based in the United States and our service providers may process data in the United States and other countries. Where we transfer personal data from your region, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) where required by law.

14. Children’s privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

15. Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures — such as encryption in transit and access controls — designed to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

16. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
